Céder means to yield or to give up.

1) Je vais céder mon tour à quelqu’un d’autre pour la réunion. (I’m going to give up my turn to someone else for the meeting.)
2) Il faut céder le passage aux piétons lorsqu’on conduit. (You have to yield to pedestrians when driving.)
3) Les parents ont décidé de céder à la pression de leurs enfants pour acheter un nouvel animal de compagnie. (The parents have decided to give in to their children’s pressure to buy a new pet.)
