Meaning of Sous-Assurer – French Verb

Sous-Assurer means to underinsure.

Examples of sous-assurer in Every Day Usage

1) Je pense que je suis un peu sous-assuré pour ma voiture, je devrais peut-être augmenter ma couverture. (I think I am a bit underinsured for my car, I should maybe increase my coverage.)

2) Nous devons nous assurer que nous ne sommes pas sous-assurés en cas de dommages causés par une tempête. (We need to make sure we are not underinsured in case of damages caused by a storm.)

3) Mon ami a eu un accident et il était sous-assuré pour les frais médicaux, alors il a dû payer une grosse somme d’argent. (My friend had an accident and he was underinsured for medical expenses, so he had to pay a large amount of money.)
