Introduction to the verb engamer
The English translation of the French verb engamer is to engage, to involve or to embark. It is pronounced as “ahn-gah-may” in its infinitive form.
The word engamer is derived from the Old French word “engagier” which means “to pledge, promise or engage”. It is a combination of the prefix “en” (meaning “in, into, on”) and the word “gage” (meaning “pledge”).
