Introduction to the verb apiquer
The English translation of the French verb apiquer is “to stick/attach/appliqué”. It is pronounced “a-pe-kay”.
The word apiquer comes from the Latin word “applicare”, meaning “to attach/apply”. In everyday French, it is most often used in the Plus-que-parfait tense to indicate an action that was completed before another past action. It is formed by using the auxiliary verb “avoir” (to have) in the imperfect tense, followed by the past participle of apiquer.
