Introduction to the verb gauler
The English translation of the French verb gauler is “to shell” or “to husk.” It is pronounced as “goh-ley.”
The word gauler comes from the Old French word “gau” which means “to remove the husk” and has its roots in the Latin word “gala” which means “husk.” In everyday French, gauler is most often used in the plus-que-parfait tense which is the past perfect tense. This tense is used to describe an action that was completed before another action in the past.
