Introduction to the verb parader
The English translation of the French verb parader is “to parade” or “to show off”. The infinitive form is pronounced pah-rah-deh.
The origin of the word parader comes from the Old French term “parade” which means “to arrange, to prepare” and from the Italian word “parare” which means “to ward off, to prepare”. It has been used in French since the 16th century.
In everyday French, parader is most often used in the Plus-que-parfait tense, which is the past perfect tense. This tense is used to talk about an action that took place before another past action or event.
