Introduction to the verb enverger
The English translation of the French verb enverger is “to branch out” or “to spread out”. It is pronounced ahn-vehr-zhay.
Enverger comes from the Latin word “invertere”, meaning “to turn upside down”. In French, it was first used in the 15th century to describe the action of trees spreading out their branches. Today, it is most commonly used in everyday French to describe the development or expansion of something.
In the Conditionnel Passé tense, enverger is used to express a hypothetical or uncertain action that would have taken place in the past if certain conditions were met. It is formed by using the conditional of the auxiliary verb “avoir” or “être” followed by the past participle of enverger.
