Introduction to the verb chasser
The English translation of the French verb chasser is “to hunt” or “to chase”. It is pronounced “sha-say” in its infinitive form.
The word chasser comes from the Latin word “captiare” which means “to capture”. In everyday French, it is most often used in the Futur Antérieur tense which expresses an action that will have been completed in the future, before another action takes place.
