Introduction to the verb ester
The English translation of the French verb ester is “to stay” or “to remain.” The infinitive form of ester is pronounced “es-tay.”
The word ester comes from the Latin word “stare” which means “to stand” or “to be.” It is most often used in everyday French in the Futur Antérieur tense, which is the future perfect tense in English. This tense is used to talk about an action that will be completed in the future before another action takes place.
