Débrayer means to disengage or unhook.

Examples of débrayer in Every Day Usage

  1. Je vais débrayer ma voiture avant de sortir du parking. (I will disengage my car before leaving the parking lot.)
  2. Il faut débrayer l’embrayage avant de changer de vitesse en conduisant. (You have to disengage the clutch before changing gears while driving.)
