Introduction to the verb contrôler
The English translation of the French verb contrôler is “to control”. The infinitive form is pronounced as “kon-tro-leh”.
The word “contrôler” comes from the Old French word “controler” which means “to regulate, restrain, or hold in check”. It comes from the Latin word “contrahere” which means “to bring together, draw tight, or restrain”.
