Introduction to the verb alpaguer
The English translation of the French verb alpaguer is “to accost” or “to collar.” It is pronounced as “ahl-pah-geh.”
Alpaguer comes from the Old French word “halpaut” which means “to seize or capture.” It is most commonly used in every day French in the Conditionnel Passé tense, which is used to express actions that would have happened in the past if certain conditions had been met.
