Futur Antérieur (Future Anterior) Tense Conjugation of the French Verb ariser
Introduction to the verb ariser
The English translation of the French verb ariser is “to arise” or “to occur.” The infinitive form of the verb is pronounced “ah-ree-zay.”
The word ariser comes from the Latin verb “ad” meaning “to” and “risus” meaning “laugh.” In Old French, it was spelled “ariser” and meant “to rise up.”
In everyday French, ariser is most often used in the Futur Antérieur tense, which is formed by using the auxiliary verb “avoir” or “être” in the future tense followed by the past participle of the main verb. This tense is used to talk about future actions that will be completed before another action or time in the future.
Example 1: Quand tu auras fini tes devoirs, tu pourras sortir avec tes amis. (When you will have finished your homework, you will be able to go out with your friends.)
Example 2: Elle sera en retard si elle n’aura pas pris le train de 8 heures. (She will be late if she hasn’t taken the 8 o’clock train.)
Example 3: Nous serons fatigués après avoir voyagé pendant 12 heures. (We will be tired after having traveled for 12 hours.)
In these examples, the action of finishing homework, taking the train, and traveling will occur before the main action of going out with friends, being late, and feeling tired, respectively.
