Introduction to the verb accouer
The English translation of the French verb accouer is “to dock” or “to moor.” It is pronounced as ah-koo-ay.
Accouer comes from the Old French word “acoleir,” which means “to approach or draw near.” It is most often used in everyday French in the Passé Composé tense, which indicates an action that has been completed in the past.
Three simple examples of accouer used in the Passé Composé tense are:
