Plus-que-parfait (Pluperfect) Tense Conjugation of the French Verb désaxer
Introduction to the verb désaxer
The English translation of the French verb désaxer is “to unsettle” or “to unbalance.” It is pronounced as “day-zak-say” in the infinitive form.
The word désaxer comes from the prefix “dé-” which means “undo” or “reverse” and the noun “axe” which means “axis.” Therefore, désaxer literally means “to reverse the axis” or “to take something off its axis.”
In everyday French, désaxer is most often used in the Plus-que-parfait tense, which is the past perfect tense. This tense is used to describe an action that had already been completed in the past before another action took place. It is formed with the auxiliary verb “avoir” or “être” in the imperfect tense, followed by the past participle of the verb.
